The Concentration lecture series includes a Case Study designed to apply the principles of the class lecture content to a practical project.
LA PMP AWARE PROFESSIONAL
Although an option for the class, the Concentration provides the foundation to sit for the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) or the Project Management Professional (PMP®) Exam. The Concentration in PM provides 60 hours of focused lecture designed around the PMBOK® and the Agile Practice Guide. Students are made aware of the global demand for PM and the role of the Project Management Institute (PMI®) in establishing guidelines and standards, for practicing PM’s and professional PM certifications available through the PMI®. Students are also introduced to the predicative and adaptative methodology for managing projects. The core class consist of 12 hours of lecture introducing students to the importance of people skills, early planning, and specific tools available to assist in project planning including the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Precedence Diagrams, deterministic scheduling, Earned Value Analysis, and project status reporting. An introduction of PM embedded as a core class in the MBA Program and 2. The Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program at MSMU, established in 2008, allows students the opportunity to earn an MBA with a Concentration in Project Management (PM). The PM component of the MBA Program consist of two main parts: 1. Our program emphasizes the strategic role that project management plays in the performance of global organizations, providing students with the knowledge and skills needed to be effective leaders.
